Happy Mother's Day! We don't have any new adoption news ; ) We have taken a little "break" from getting referrals... and we feel ready to dive back in now! Lord willing, we will match when the next "Shared List" comes out from China toward the end of May. China doesn't announce when the Shared List will come out until the day before - and it usually comes out once a month. This is a list of special needs children that are available for adoption. We'll see!!! Our agency sent out a great Mother's Day poem today and we wanted to share it with you. It's just so sweet! I was thinking about our little one's birth mother today on Mother's Day... what a gift she will be giving us. How brave she was to carry her baby and leave the baby where she knew the baby would be found. I was praying for her today. She has already given our baby up (most likely) so I pray that she would have a peace that the little one will be loved and cared for. I'm so thankful for the part she played in our little one's sweet life. I pray that she would someday know Jesus! Ok, here's the poem that our agency sent ... hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
A Mother's Day Poem
Once there were two women who
never knew each other
One you do not remember, the
other you call Mother
Two different lives shaped to
make you one
The first one gave you life, and
the second taught you to live it
The first gave you a need for
love, the second was there to give it
One gave you a nationality, the
other gave you a name
One gave you a talent, the other
gave you aim
One gave you emotions, the other
calmed your fears
One saw your first sweet smile,
the other dried your tears
One made an adoption plan, that
was all that she could do
The other prayed for a child, and
God led her straight to you.
Now, which of these two women,
are you the product of?
Both, my darling, both, just two
different types of love.

Beautiful poem, Liz. I emailed it to two of my friends who have adopted. Keeping you in prayer.
